Abstract

Popliteal artery pseudoaneurysms are uncommon in young individuals, especially without an underlying connective tissue disorder. We present a case of a 14-year-old female who presented with acute lower limb ischemia due to a popliteal artery pseudoaneurysm. The patient had no history suggestive of a connective tissue disorder. The child underwent prompt diagnosis and surgical intervention resulting in limb salvage using ipsilateral, autologous vein bypass graft. There was no histological evidence of connective tissue disorder or vasculitis. This case highlights the importance of considering rare vascular pathologies in young patients presenting with acute limb ischemia.
