Biography

Dr. Upadhyay is recognized nationally and internationally for his excellence in clinical care, research, and education. He has authored more than 62 peer-reviewed publications. His scholarly contributions also include invited educational content for BMJ Best Practice and editorial roles with multiple journals. His research portfolio spans leadership in multicenter clinical trials—such as VALE, VALIANT, PRESERVE 2.0, CARE-NS, and KOFEE—as well as international collaborations on IgA nephropathy, vasculitis, anti-
GBM disease, and Takayasu arteritis.

A dedicated mentor and educator, Dr. Upadhyay actively trains residents, fellows, and junior faculty while contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives. His national service includes committee roles with the International Pediatric Transplant Association, American Board of Pediatrics, and multiple collaborative research consortia.

Balancing clinical leadership with academic scholarship, Dr. Upadhyay is committed to advancing pediatric nephrology and transplant medicine while improving the lives of children with kidney disease.
